Top 3 Skillshare Classes for Giving Award-Winning Presentations

For Design and Process:

PRESENTATION DESIGN FOR SMART PEOPLE 🡥

MJ Truong created this class to help students design thoughtful, intentional, and impactful presentations from start to finish. This is not a PowerPoint (or other presentation software) user guide, but a valuable class covering everything that goes into the creation of an impressive presentation from the back-end. This includes advice on planning your presentation narrative, learning the art (and importance) of storyboarding, an introduction on designing beautiful slides by choosing attractive fonts, color palettes, and creative slide layouts, and the class even includes advice on script-writing and how to effectively deliver your presentation to an audience. I recommend this class to someone who already has the basic knowledge of how to use a presentation software, but needs creative assistance on storytelling and and design.

For Learning How to Use the Software:

POWERPOINT MASTERCLASS SERIES 🡥

This series by Andrzej Pach is a 12 part Skillshare class (starting with class #2 and ending on #13) that totals around four and a half hours. During this class you'll not only learn many of the basic features PowerPoint has to offer, but also how to set-up and maneuver through the application in ways that are efficient and make a big impact — including, but not limited to, customizing the toolbar and learning vital keyboard shortcuts. It's not just a tool-kit for how to use PowerPoint's features, but also a great way for new designers to dive into the basics of creating well-designed slides that are pleasing to the eye. If this specific Masterclass isn't for you, Pach offers several other Skillshare classes (in varying lengths) that cover PowerPoint and Adobe After Effects — so there's something for everyone!

For Greater Confidence in Presenting:

BECOME A GREAT SPEAKER: LEARN PUBLIC SPEAKING & PRESENTATION 🡥

The previous two Skillshare recommendations cover the topics of creating presentations and even learning the software in-depth, but, for some, the most difficult part of presenting is not designing the deck or using PowerPoint. Instead, many find the area they need the most advice on is speaking in front of an audience. That's where Johnathan Li's class titled Become a Great Speaker: Learn Public Speaking & Presentation comes in. He is a TEDx speaker and had been featured on websites like Entrepreneur, Inc., and The Huffington Post where he is praised for his presentation skills. Most students agree this class is best suited for a beginner to intermediate speaker.

With these three classes, we believe you will not only be able to create and deliver a good presentation, but you will learn how to plan and share a truly captivating story.
